Acrylic rendering has grown in popularity in recent years. The appearance of cement and acrylic rendering do not hugely differ, the differentiation is predominantly in the process and execution.
The acrylic render comes in pre-mixed buckets that can be a more expensive option in comparison to the cement render which only uses sand, cement and lime. Acrylic render is designed to be applied to most surfaces such as painted masonry, uneven concrete, brick, fibre cement and plasterboard - no mixing is required which is an advantage to its longevity. Acrylic render is quite flexible and can absorb a small degree of movement, as it is essentially a sheath, or a coating which makes it a superior crack-resistant option.
